Volunteer Code of Conduct
All volunteers for Bingley Pride have to abide by our Code of Conduct. Failure to do so can result in a warning or in termination of your volunteering opportunity, depending on severity.
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to provide volunteers with clear guidelines regarding behaviour, responsibilities and best practice.
Each volunteer:
1. General Conduct
1.1 Will embrace and respect that Bingley Pride is a celebration of diversity and equality and act accordingly.
1.2 Will inform Bingley Pride of any relevant police record, conflict of interest, or change in circumstances which may make them unsuitable as a Bingley Pride volunteer.
1.3 Will not behave in any way, physically or verbally, or through any other medium that could be threatening, violent, or offensive to another volunteer, staff member, event participant, performer, stallholder, security personnel, or member of the public.
1.4 Will not target or discriminate against individuals or groups on the basis of:
Sexuality.
Gender/sex.
Transgender identity.
Race and/or ethnicity.
Religion.
Age.
Nationality.
Disability.
Appearance.
Social class.
Marital or civil partnership status.
Pregnancy or parental status.
1.5 Will not harass or infringe on the bodily integrity of any other person, and will respect others’ physical, mental, and social boundaries.
1.6 Will not bring the organisation into disrepute.
1.7 Will not use Bingley Pride for financial advantage without approval from the Bingley Pride organising committee.
1.8 Will not act as a spokesperson for Bingley Pride without approval from the Bingley Pride organising committee.
2. Conduct When Representing Bingley Pride
2.1 Will act professionally and appropriately.
2.2 Will not consume alcohol or other prohibited substances.
2.3 Will not act outside the scope of their volunteer position.
2.4 Will honour commitments as agreed, and inform a member of the Bingley Pride organising committee if they will be unable to do so.
2.5 Will follow all health and safety, safeguarding, intellectual property, and data protection policies in all matters associated with Bingley Pride.
2.6 Will communicate any issues or concerns with a member of the Bingley Pride organising committee.
